Dimensions In Design

Cindi M.

In September 2011, my house was one of many destroyed in a wildfire. After the initial shock wore-off, I realized I had to reconstruct a way of life. So I set about finding a house and furnishings to fill it.

I had no doubt this was to be an unwelcome and overwhelming task and sought help. Amy Crouch Coleman came highly recommended.

As Amy showed me fabric swatches, wood grains, paint chips and design books, I answered her questions about what I had in my previous home and what I would like for a new home. What my lifestyle involved – family, work, activities - and what I saw for my future. I feel she took those jumbled thoughts and constructed a cohesive direction and plan for the interior remodel and design of my empty, newly purchased home.

She helped me select furniture, rugs, lighting, interior finishes (paint, tile, etc.), accessories, draperies and fine art. She redesigned my kitchen and helped me integrate a piece of artwork that was installed by a dear family member.

I am very happy with her work, with how she discovered and reflected my wishes for my surroundings, and how she eventually made the entire process fun.

Amy asked, if I would write a testimonial on her behalf for her new website. It would be difficult for me to ever say no to Amy, my gratitude for her work far exceeds any tacit shyness to the contrary.

My problem is that I don’t really know what to say. I sincerely hope she displays photos of the work she did, they say a picture is worth a thousand words and I think that axiom holds true here. However, even photos have their limitations.

Here’s what I can say:

Amy Crouch Coleman is a uniquely, imaginative individual, who is wonderfully talented and highly knowledgeable.

She is exceedingly conscientious and caring. She will live with a visual of your home in her mind/heart (her visual memory is phenomenal) until she is totally satisfied that her work has been successfully completed.

An example of this occurred over a guest bath that we decided to “blowout.” We wanted to add a bigger brushstroke to bring out the WOW factor for my special guests.

Approximately, two to three months after my home’s décor had been completed, I received a call from Amy, “I was thinking about your guest bath,” she said.

“Why,” I asked? I live here and I never think about it … haha!”

“Seriously Robert,” she said, “it’s not completed yet. It’s missing something and I can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve got an idea and I wanted to run it by you.”

“Okay,” I said.

“How do you feel about peacocks? I’ve got this visual in my mind of a couple of peacocks resting upon a white pillar with their plumage in colorful display. What do you think,” she asked with excitement.

“Uhhh, I dunno Amy,” I said, “I’m a dude, it sounds okay to me. If you like it … yeah, sure, why not.” It turned out great, and it did add that special something that was missing.

I’m very proud of my home, how can I not be? She transformed it from the dull and uninspired into a beautiful showcase of casual elegance! Everyone who has ever entered my home initiates their journey, by opening a beautiful stained glass front door that only begins to tell of a greater story inside. The tour invariably begins and ends with a touch of awe and heartfelt accolades.

I give Amy Crouch Coleman, 5 STARS!  She’s fantastic! She transformed my home, and in the process transformed my life.

Appreciatively,
Robert C.
